My wife has a ton of recipes that she likes. She keeps them in an index card file. Someday we will have a monitor/portable computer in our kitchen where she can look up her recipes electronically. I created a new web site to help get her started. She only has a few recipes on there right now.

My two favorite players lost: Andy Roddick lost in the QF in the fifth set to Johannson and Jennifer Capriati lost in the SF in the third set to Dementieva.
Guess I’ll have to wait until January for the Australian Open.
Maybe Roddick will redeem himself at the year-end Houston Masters.

Well, I did not miss class today. I even made it early, but went to the wrong classroom across the hall. Eventually, I found the correct classroom, still on time.
I’m taking Operations Management and Global Managerial Economics. The Ops class is very boring. Apparently, CSUSM just found the instructor two weeks before class started. Here he is, Dr. Hassan Haft. I don’t really know what we will be doing for the semester since our textbook only has eight chapters. But according to the prof., it should be an easy A. The class is so dull that I have time to take a pic of myself myself with my Sony Clie PDA-Cam. My MBA classmates, Jeremy and Jeff, look like they are paying attention, but like me, they are thinking to themselves, “How much longer do we have in here?”
Jeremy and I struggle to take notes (take a look, woot, business processes). At least it’s easy and it makes sense. This would not be the best class this semester. As second-year students, we are all looking forward to graduation in May.

I promised Nimble Rabit last year that I would post a picture of my computer’s case. Well, it’s a year late, but here it is with neon blue light and all. Did you notice who is standing at the top of the computer case?
P.S. I forget the specs on my computer; otherwise, I would have listed them. Fast, fast, fast, should be enough description. The only thing I remember is that I have 1 GB of RAM.

I would donate my mil to the Children’s Hunger Fund. They are a Christian relief organization that helps starving children here in the United States and all over the world. Here is a brief summary of what they do for children (taken from their web site):
Our program services include food and clothing distribution to needy families, support of orphanages and feeding programs worldwide, disaster relief, job training and placement for youth and young adults Christmas toy distribution; and other projects geared toward improving the quality of life of children in need. Since it’s inception, Children’s Hunger Fund has distributed more than $230 million in relief aid to children in more than 70 countries worldwide. Our services extend to 25 states across America and on several Native American Indian reservations.
They are deserving simply because they look after children who struggle and/or unwanted or who have parents that have difficulty providing for their children.
As much as I would hate to leave the greatest country in the world, I would probably end up going to Great Britain, where they speak English (I guess, though not American English). I could watch Wimbledon every year, too bad that could not be my new career. I would probably get involved in some aspect of marketing and communications.
I would finish the final trilogy of Star Wars, Episodes 7 - 9. I would star in it as The Emperor, of course. With all that makeup on me, you wouldn’t be able to tell I was not some old, white fart.
I would never be a fictitious identity because the whole point of a personal blog is to write about yourself. But just to humor this question . . . I would say that I would write as . . . I dunno, maybe Wesley Crusher from Star Trek, The Next Generation and be the counterpart to Wil Wheaton Dot Net. Like I said, I would probably not do this if I had to redo my blog.

Today, I got a phone call from HR Toshiba Corporation in Irvine. They are looking for a Program Manager to help with instructional design to design training materials for their sales group. It sounds like an awesome opportunity to work for an awesome company.
Funny that I got the call after I was feeling so crappy about my asshole manager.
Oh and something else, I love that this job opportunity is with Marketing and Communications, the exact field of business that I have really enjoyed during the past year in business school.
Update 9/10/04: Today, the HR finally called back. She was kind of reluctant to proceed when I told her that I live in San Diego County and was hesitant to commute to Irvine. I convined her, I think, to give me a shot, so now I am going to be forwarding a clean copy of my resume.
Update 9/11/04: After talking about commuting to Irvine with my MBA colleagues at class this morning, I’m leaning towards the idea that such a long commute would probably not be a good thing. Commuting for so long takes a toll on you. At this point, I will most likely not pursue this opportunity. But it was exciting to consider it.
I found out tonight during HR class that I had missed both my classes last Saturday. I seriously thought that because of the holiday weekend, there was no class.
Now I’ve got to cram for two classes and have an assignment ready to go by Saturday morning.
Sucks.
Update 09/09/04: Got the ok to take tomorrow off. I can definitely catch up on my reading and assignments.
Update 09/10/04: Finished the assignment at close to midnight. I’m a slow reader when it comes to textbooks - very boring.

Looking for another job again because the manager I work for sucks big time. I hate this place. It is so demotivating to work here. The culture sucks.
I feel depressed and trapped again.
Update 09/08/04: I have class tonight with someone who works for UPS. There are currently two positions for which I am interested in. I’m praying that my classmate will be able to help me get in the door somehow. Nowadays, it’s pretty difficult to get a position without knowing someone. God be with me.
Update 09/08/04 (after class): Mike from class is going to find out who the hiring managers are for the two positions at UPS and some contact numbers. So hopefully, soon I can call regarding the two jobs.
Bill Clinton having heart surgery. Stay alive, so people don’t feel sorry for you and vote for Kerry.
I have no idea.
Actor/comedian/personality: Adam Sandler
Movie: Stripes
Book: Angela’s Ashes (It’s not supposed to be funny, but I laughed several times while reading it. In general, I don’t read funny books, so this question is kind of weird.)
I’m not a jokester. But one time, at band camp . . .

I have six five Gmail invites I’d like to give away. Here are the requirements:
*You must have your own regularly updated blog related to UCLA in some positive way.
*Please join the UCLA Blog Ring.
I’ll send you the invitation after I confirm the above requirements.
Tonight was the first day (”night” of school for me at CSUSM. I’m taking nine graduate units in business, and I will be graduating this May with my MBA!
Tonight’s class was the “Competitive Advantage of Human Resources”. My instructor was born in South Africa and has lived in England and Canada (mostly Canada). So she has that unique Canadian accent that comes out when she says the word “about”.
Not too excited to spend three hours in a classroom tonight. But the class seems interesting and not too difficult. It was supposed to end early tonight, but because of long-windedness, it took the entire 2 hours and forty-five minutes.
