Day 1.5: Los Angeles to London to Athens

4:40 PM, London time
Boring: That was a LONG, boring flight to London. Flight time was 10 hours 11 minutes. I didn’t sleep much because it’s difficult to sleep while sitting down in a noisy airplane. The plane was huge, a Boeing 777, with 10 seats across each row in coach class. My butt was very sore from all the sitting for such an extended time.
Mad: I got mad toward the end of the flight because I was in the middle of watching a movie and Josephine wanted some milk for her coffee, but the flight attendant did not bring any. So I got up and the movie got interrupted. I was pissed. I intend to put the movie on my Netflix cue. It was called In Good Company (Widescreen Edition).
Inefficient: The London Heathrow airport is undergoing a lot of construction. But currently this huge airport seems very inefficient and not passenger-friendly. We did a lot of walking to get to Terminal 2 where were are flying out to Athens on Olympic Airlines. We will board in about 45 minutes. Apparently, they don’t post the gate information until about a half hour before the flight, so everyone waiting for a flight has to wait in a central lounge area where there are a lot of shops and not many seats.
Rude: Not only did the airport security officer who helped us have a strange British accent, but she was rude as well. When we asked her about where Olympic Airlines was leaving from, she told us to go look on the TV monitor. I replied that the departure information was not yet posted and the departure time said 4:35 PM instead of 6:00 PM. Her reply was: “Well, obviously, the information has not been posted yet. So you’ll have to wait in the main lounge and mind the TV monitors.”
