Obstacles to Forgiving Ourselves

In Touch Daily Devotional: Psalm 51:10-12
Lord, you know all things. You knew all my sins before I was even born and committed them. You know the consequences of my sin that are still going to be played out. And you knew in your omniscience that today’s devotional would align directly with this past Sunday’s sermon. Help me to remember what was said at church: If we cannot let go of the the guilt of sin that is already forgiven, then we are basically saying the Jesus’ death on the cross is not good enough.

Dear Jesus, you not only died for my sins, but you paid the price for the guilt too. Help me to remember that it is only through you that my sins are paid for, and nothing I can do on my own will make things better.
